Empowering Adolescents and Teenage mothers in Kayole Through Nutrition Training

In the heart of Kayole, a powerful transformation took place. Adolescent girls and teenage mothers, the vibrant focus of Big 5 Empowerment Organization, gathered for a vital training session led by NAPHBUT (Nutrition Alliance for Planetary Health and Budgets).   The day began with introductions and a shared sense of purpose. Samira Nassir, Co-Founder of NAPHBUT, guided the session, emphasizing NAPHBUT's mission and diving into the core of the day's theme: nutrition for adolescents, Maternal, Infant and Young Child feeding.

This wasn't just a lecture; it was a dynamic exchange. Samira's participatory approach sparked enthusiasm, ensuring that every young mother understood the essentials of a balanced diet. The room buzzed with collaboration as participants created balanced meal plans in groups, showcasing their newfound knowledge.   The training went beyond general nutrition, addressing the specifics of breastfeeding and infant feeding. Samira provided practical demonstrations, even using a volunteer and her baby to illustrate proper breastfeeding techniques. Crucially, the session tackled myths surrounding children's diets, arming the mothers with accurate information.

Throughout the day, questions flowed freely, experiences were shared, and the girls' growing understanding shone brightly. The Director of Big 5, Eris, expressed deep gratitude and requested future collaborations, a testament to the program's value.

This training wasn't just an event; it was an investment. By equipping these young mothers with knowledge and skills, NAPHBUT and Big 5 Empowerment Organization are fostering healthier futures for families in Komarock. The day concluded with a group photo, a lasting memory of empowerment and shared learning
